The Crisis in Myanmar: Are there Roles for Track Two Diplomacy?

Abstract

The situation in Myanmar is tragic. Events since the coup of February, 2021, have set back the prospect of a peaceful transition of power by many years. This paper will assess the situation in Myanmar, with particular reference to the question of what role may be played by unofficial peacemaking (Track Two Diplomacy, broadly defined) in helping to end armed violence and conflict.
