Abstract

The assumptions librarians bring to teaching are seldom acknowledged in their practice or in their professional development, yet these assumptions affect their motivation, actions, and learning. What shapes these assumptions is explored using an ecological model developed through qualitative research that places the self in its immediate and broader contexts.
