Abstract
This research delves into the realm of molecular homogeneous catalysts, specifically focusing on 3d metal complexes, Ni in particular, for electrochemical processes involving CO₂ and nitrite reduction, as well as H₂ production. The investigation highlights the use of non-innocent ligands and their influence on catalytic activity, solubility, and complex efficiency and use of water both as solvent and proton source. Through experimental investigation and computational analysis, the study aims to enhance the understanding of catalytic mechanisms, metal-ligand interactions, and the role of metal in enhancing catalytic efficiency and selectivity.
