dc.description.abstractIn recent years, China has witnessed rapid changes in housing prices, and at the same time, the unintended consequences of birth control policy have been widely studied. This paper examines the relationship between the one-child policy and housing prices in China by using Chinese census data. The hypothesis of this paper is that the one-child policy can bring negative effects on housing prices by controlling population growth in China and decreasing the demand for residences. The results suggest that the one-child policy has not affected trends in housing prices in China.en
