A forced-recirculation type apparatus for the determination of the vapour liquid equilibrium data at low temperature and high pressure conditions was designed and constructed for this study. A detailed description of the design is presented in the thesis. Vapour-liquid equilibrium data were obtained for the binary and ternary mixtures of nitrogen methane and ethane at -151.1°F. The Pressure range covered in this investigation was from 8 to 750 psi. In the correlation of the data, the experimental data were found to be self-consistent.
