| dc.description.abstract | An implementation of Discrete Portion of a combined digital simulation language, called the General System Theory Implementor, referred to by the acronym GEST, is presented. A GEST translator, accepting a GEST source program generates the corresponding FORTRAN IV program and executes it. This implementation handles a subset of GEST statements with a syntax defined for the Discrete Portion of the simulation language. A general review of simulations and simulation languages with a respect to simulation requirements of large systems is given. The implementation of this translator is presented with recommendations for the future implementation and enhancements based on the experience gained during this study. | |
