In this research paper, we investigate how China as the world’s largest exporter has affected the labor market outcome in the manufacturing industry of the Canadian province of Ontario. For our analysis, we use monthly data and the method of Autor, Dorn, and Hanson (2013) to study this effect. We find a 19.99% decline in employment in the manufacturing industry of Ontario over the period from 2002-2019.en_US
